DIFFERENT dimension Sea You on the Other Tide Swatches and Review

Good afternoon, dear readers, and happy Saturday! It is a gorgeous sunny day here in Northern California, and I am indoors yet again nursing a cold. Boo! To help cheer me up, I wanted to share some gorgeous polishes with you. As I mentioned in my previous post, I have more polishes from DIFFERENT dimension to show you. These gorgeous shades are part of the new Sea You on the Other Tide Collection. The names that Missi has given these beauties are fantastic, and I hope you agree! Let's check them out!

You've Gotta Be Squidding Me
You've Gotta be Squidding Me is arguably my favorite of the polishes I am sharing today, but it does have some serious competition. I've been trying to find the perfect pinky-coral shade, and I have finally found it! You've Gotta Be Squidding me is a coral jelly polish with neon pink shimmer added. I used three flawless coats for these photos.

Wave if You Sea Me
Wave if You Sea Me is absolutely stunning, and I'm afraid my photos just don't do it justice. It is a bright cobalt blue polish with amazing green shimmer that my camera just could not quite capture while on my nails. You can see a little of the green shimmer in the bottle in these photos, and I assure you, the green shimmer is much more obvious on the nail than I am showing here. This is another winner from the collection, and my husband's favorite polish. The formula was superb as well, and I used three coats for these photos.

Friends Anemones
Have I said how much I love the names of the polishes in this collection yet? I cannot help but giggle when I refer to Friends Anemones; it is just so cute! The polish is unlike anything I have seen before, and the colour combination Missi used is fabulous! A shimmery sheer grey with lime green and blue glitters, Friends Anemones builds up nicely and the glitters disperse easily over the nail. I used three coats for these photos.

I am so excited about the colours in this collection! The formula of these polishes was perfect- not too thick or too thin for me. The colours are beautiful, and the names are simply amazing. I am in love with this collection, and I hope you like it too!

These and other DIFFERENT dimension polishes can be purchased at Missi's Etsy shop here. For international customers, DIFFERENT dimension is also stocked at LlaroweEdgy PolishMei Mei Signatures, and Ledouxnuage. You can follow DIFFERENT dimension on Facebook here and on Instagram here

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day and weekend! <3

4th of July Preview featuring Different Dimension Indepen-Dance!

Good evening, dear readers! Long time no see! Life has gotten a little crazy for me with some sad family news, so my blog has been waiting for me. I still have a little bit going on including a trip to Las Vegas for Cosmoprof next month, but I'll still be posting here and there as time permits. I'm still verifying entries for the Salon Perfect giveaway that just ended, but I should be drawing and contacting a winner in the next day or two. Now on to this evening's post!

Initially, I wasn't sure how I wanted to paint my nails today, but then my package arrived from Different Dimension. I realize it is still June, but I wanted to create something cute and simple using Missi's Indepen-Dance! polish, and hopefully inspire you if you are planning to have patriotic nails for the 4th of July.
I kept my nails simple by using just red, white, and blue (Zoya Rekha, Zoya Purity, and Zoya Song) in addition to Indepen-Dance. I really love how it came out! I'm also really digging the glitters in this topper! This is the first polish I've used with triangle glitters, and I am in love. The stars are perfect, and the circle glitters round it out nicely. ;)

Indepen-Dance! and other Different Dimension polishes can be purchased at Missi's Etsy shop here. For international customers, Different Dimension is also stocked at Llarowe, Edgy Polish, Mei Mei Signatures, and Ledouxnuage. You can follow Different Dimension on Facebook here and on Instagram here. I have a few more stunning shades that I'll be sharing with you soon, so don't do too far!

Until next time, have a wonderful evening!
XOXO!

Born Pretty Store Smooth Flat Studs

Press Sample

Good afternoon, dear readers, and happy Friday! This week has just flown by so quickly! I've been busy working on craft projects with my son for Father's Day this weekend, and I can't wait for the hubby to see what we've been up to!

While I have been in a crafty mood, I thought I should so some fun nail art as well. Born Pretty Store sent me this wheel of silver and gold smooth flattened studs to review.
The studs come in three sizes, with each size available in both silver and gold. I wanted to do something a little whimsical with these studs, and I used the medium-sized gold studs for my nail art below.
The traveling ladybug! I love ladybugs, and I even have something similar to my nail art tattooed on my foot.
The polish colours are Precision Nail Lacquer in Honey Dew, Sinful Colors Olympia, Pure Ice Sea Glass, Zoya Rekha, and Zoya Raven.

These studs were easy to apply with tweezers, and they were flat enough that I didn't find them to be distracting for long term wear like I do with larger pieces. They also came off very easily with an acetone-based nail polish remover when I was ready to change my manicure. I definitely have a lot of other ideas with these now!

These studs can be purchased here. Don't forget to use discount code QWL91 to save 10% off your purchase. While you are at the site, you should check out Born Pretty Store for your other nail art needs; there is certainly a lot to choose from!
I hope you enjoyed today's post and nail art! Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!

Salon Perfect Neon Pop Duos, Nail Foils, and a Giveaway!

Good morning, dear readers! I hope this post finds you well, and you have had a wonderful weekend! Mine flew by far too fast as usual, but it was still a nice weekend. One of my errands this weekend included a trip to Walmart, and I finally found a couple of the Salon Perfect Neon Pop duos that I am now sharing with you this morning. They only had a couple boxes, and I grabbed them all! They also had animal print nail foil transfers. I knew I needed to get those to pair up with my neons! Check out my manicure!

Colour Pairs:
Loopy Lime (green) and Yowza Yellow (yellow)
Gone Sailing (blue) and Flamingo Flair (coral)

I painted these neons over white to make them really pop, and that they did!

I then added the animal print nail foils by first painting my nails with an adhesive included in the kit, allowed it to partially dry until tacky, and rubbed the foils over my nails. As you can probably guess, the snake skin print was the first one I used on my nails, and it didn't transfer perfectly. The adhesive was still a little too wet in some places, so the foils didn't really stick. I had more luck with the zebra and leopard print foils, and I'm sure I can get these down with more practice. In spite of the imperfections, I really love this look!

Since my Walmart took awhile to get these duos in and didn't have many in stock, I thought I would snatch up the last Neon Pop package available for a giveaway. I also bought another set of animal print Nail Foils for you to dress your nails up with as well! The giveaway is open to International participants and ends June 22nd! Good luck!

Besame Cosmetics: Carmine and Coral lipsticks

Good morning, dear readers, and happy Saturday! The weekend has somehow crept up on me again, and I couldn't be happier about it! I've not been getting much sleep the past two weeks, but I was able to catch up on some last night. I actually woke up this morning not needing a cup of coffee to get my day going!

To get the day started, how about a blog post on some pretty lipsticks? I tend to wear a lot of berry-coloured lip products, with the occasional blue-based red thrown in, and I was in the mood for something a little different. There are so many lipstick brands to choose from! I decided to buy my lippies from Bésame Cosmetics, a family company that specializes in making vintage inspired luxury cosmetics.
I truly am a classic girl at heart when it comes to cosmetic colours, and I adore the beautiful packaging Bésame Cosmetics uses.
The lipsticks are packaged in these small red velvet pouches, and the pouches are tucked inside a small box. Please excuse the lack of a box in my photos; my toddler has decided he likes to play with my makeup boxes and destroyed them before I could take a picture of them.
I bought lipsticks in the shades Carmine and Coral, reproductions of shades from 1931 and 1962 respectively.
Carmine (left) and Coral (right)

Here are swatches of these beautiful colours. This is with two coats on my arm, but I have this much coverage on my lips with only one coat. Carmine is a gorgeous orange-leaning red, and I love it against my olive skintone. The finish is semi-matte, and it lasted for several hours on my lips before a touchup was needed. Coral is an orange-peach with gold shimmer (not what I would consider "coral" but still the shade I had in mind to try), and it also has a semi-matte finish. I only had this on about an hour before eating, so naturally I needed a touch up sooner. I love both these shades, and I'm going to have a lot of fun creating looks with them! The formula is smooth and creamy, and I had no problems with feathering. I also love the light vanilla scent found in these lipsticks!

You can purchase these and other vintage inspired cosmetics from Bésame Cosmetics here. Their Facebook page can be found here, and I recommend following them as they often have different workshops in Burbank, California to attend. I've not yet had the pleasure of visiting one yet, but I hope to soon!

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful weekend!
XOXO!

Montagne Jeunesse Super-Fruit Mud Mask Review

Press Sample

Happy Wednesday, dear readers! I hope you have been enjoying the week thus far and maybe even have something fun planned for the weekend. At the time of my last post, I very mistakenly thought that my son was on the mend, but he proved me wrong that night. He kept me busy and away from my blog for the past week, but I am cautiously optimistic this time. I do appreciate you all for sticking with me through my unexpected absence! Now to a review!

I was sent a few face masks by Montagne Jeunesse to review, and I'll have reviews for each of them posted as I test them. My skin is sensitive, and I like to give time between new products to ensure I have no delayed reactions, and if I do, I can include those in my review.
For today's post, I'm going to review the Super-Fruit Mud mask. This particular mask uses Goji berries and pomegranate to protect against the drying effects of environmental stresses.
There is a little notch you use to open up the pouch, but the resulting opening was too small for me to easily get the thick mud out. I ended up pulling out a pair of scissors and cutting the top off.
This is only a small portion that was contained inside the package. It is nice and thick. Let's spread this baby on!
Beautiful, right? Haha! This mask is a little thick, but it spread pretty easily for me. You can see some areas where it is a little thicker on my face and where some managed to work its way into my hair.

When I first put this on, my skin started to tingle and my eyes started to water. I decided to wait it out a few minutes, and at that time, the tingle was no longer noticeable and my eyes were fine. After wearing this mask for 20 minutes, I used warm water and a washcloth to gently remove it from my face. The results were quite impressive! My skin felt a little tighter and smooth, and even better, it wasn't too dry! Often masks are a little drying for me, but that was not an issue with this one. Other than the little bit of tingling which resulting in eye watering upon first application, I did not experience any negative effects with this mask.

Montagne Jeunesse is currently giving away 50 masks! You can enter here, and tell them I sent you! They are going to be drawing winners in the June and again at the end of July.

You can find many of these masks at your favorite drugstores and at Ulta. Be sure to follow Montage Jeunesse on Facebook for announcements and product previews.

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day! <3
