Born Pretty Store: Multishape Pearl Nail Art Decorations

Press Sample

Good afternoon, dear readers! I hope you are having a wonderful day! I have a quick post today to share pearl nail art decorations from Born Pretty Store. Let's check them out!
The pearls come in a small container, and each container holds 250 pieces.
There are three shapes: a heart, teardrop, and an oval.
The heart is the largest of the three shapes. The scale bar is in centimeters (for the listed number denominations).

The heart was a little bigger than I like for my nails, especially since it is made of harder plastic that doesn't bend to conform to the shape of my nails, so I used the two smaller shapes for my nail art look.
I really like this look! It's a great nail art look that is simple and easy, and it's an idea for Valentine's Day nails if you don't care for hearts. Or perhaps you can use the heart shaped pearls in this pack!

These can be purchased from Born Pretty Store here.

Polishes used:
Zoya Naomi
Zoya Wendy

Also, because I couldn't draw a straight line if my life depended on it, I also used Nail Vinyls to help create this look.
You can also save 10% off your order from Born Pretty Store by using discount code QWL91.
Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
XO!

Ice Polish: Valentine's Duo and a Fun Spin on Mardi Gras Polishes

Press Sample

Good morning, dear readers! I hope you are having a wonderful day! The Jedi husband is out of town this week, so I'm wrangling my toddler by myself. I adore my little guy, but oh man, does he have a lot of energy! Thankfully he is content this morning so I can get this post written now instead of later!

I am really excited to be sharing upcoming polishes from Ice Polish with you this morning! Erin, the creative mastermind behind the brand, will be releasing two polishes for Valentine's Day and an unusual but very fun polish for Mardi Gras. I'm going to start with the Valentine's Day duo. Let's do this!

Do Ya Love Me?
OMG! A penguin! The first thing I noticed about these polishes were the new Ice Polish labels with a penguin. They are adorable! Of course those of you in blizzardgedon right now probably don't want to think about anything linked to the cold right now. Now let's get to the polish! LOL!

Do Ya Love Me? is a beautiful pink-leaning purple holographic polish. It's arguably my favorite family of purples, and I am thrilled to see it! The formula was really smooth and easy to work with; I used two easy coats plus top coat in these swatch photos.

Shot Through the Heart
over Do Ya Love Me?
Shot Through the Heart is such a fun glitter topper! It has a fantastic assortment of shapes without going too crazy for my personal taste. From hexes to squares, stars, circles, and, of course, hearts, I really enjoy this combination. The application was really easy with a dab here and there. The glitters dispersed very easily for me. I did not have to dig around for any of the glitters, but there are fewer stars and hearts than other shapes in the bottle. I'm a fan of it the way it is, but if you want more stars or hearts on your nails, you may have to dig around a little bit since they are more limited. This topper is pretty dense with glitters, and I used roughly a coat and a half to get the density shown on my nails here. I also topped my nails with top coat to smooth them out.

Now for Mardi Gras!

I wasn't exactly sure what Erin came up with for Mardi Gras, but I expected to see gold, green, and purple since they are the traditional Mardi Gras colours. Imagine my surprise when the polish I received was a blue, purple, silver, and red glitter topper! But wait, there was an unusual shape hiding in the bottle! Is that..... a cat?!? Yes, dear readers, this isn't the more traditional Mardi Gras polish. Let me present to you..... Meow-di Gras!

Meow-di Gras
Over Bernadette Thompson Sky's the Limit
Oh yes, she did! Even as I type this post, I can't help but giggle at the brilliant idea behind this polish. Don't get me wrong, dear readers, I do really like the traditional Mardi Gras colours, but this is such a fun spin and perfect for those that don't like the usual shades. Meow-di Gras is arguably the most brilliant use of the cat shaped glitters that I have seen, and I love that you can enjoy it any time of year.

Meow-di Gras is a lovely glitter topper consisting of hexes, squares, circles, and cat faces is an assortment of blue, purple, silver, gold, red, and pink glitters. It applies really easily with a dab here and there, and the glitters disperse perfectly. I don't have to dig around for any glitters at all. This topper was a little less dense than Shot Through the Heart shown above, and I used closer to two coats for these swatch photos. I also added top coat to make my nails smooth.

I am delighted to see these polishes! They are inspired and so much fun!

The Valentine's Duo and Meow-di Gras will launch on the Ice Polish Etsy shop on January 29th (that's THIS Thursday) at noon CST. Even though they were created for Valentine's Day and Mardi Gras, they are not limited edition and will be available at Erin's shop for the foreseeable future. The Valentine's polishes will be available both individually and listed together as a discounted duo. Don't miss out!

You can follow Ice Polish on Facebook here and on Instagram here for more photos and shop announcements.

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
XO!

Santa Sack Reveal and Giveaway

Good evening dear readers! I hope you are having a wonderful Saturday night! The day has run away with me, and I really wanted to get this post up right away since the package arrived late. I received a Santa Sack, a mystery bag of indie polishes, that was coordinated by Wonder Beauty Products. Each sack held on average 4 full size nail polishes based upon their individual retail values from the contributing indie polish brands, and each bag was guaranteed to be worth a minimum of $40 retail. Let's check out my bag!

How cute is this! My bag looked so smooshed when I emptied it so I had to plump it up with a scarf for this photo. Each polish was wrapped and just ready for me to dig in!

My bag contained 4 full size polishes, a mini polish, a mini candy cane, and two chocolate kisses that survived long enough for this photo to be taken. Let's check out the colours a little more!

Colores de Carol
Caramel Swirl

Yum! I've never tried this brand before, and I look forward to testing it out!

Crazy Sister Polish
Sugar Plum Princess
Pink Sugar scent

This is another new to me brand, and I can't wait to test it out!

I have a couple Ellagee polishes, and I love this shade!

Smitten Polish
Jack Frost

Smitten Polish makes some awesome microglitters, and I am thrilled to add this one to my collection!

Above the Curve
Jingle Bell Rock

Holo with glitters? Yes, please! I look forward to wearing this one as well!

Here is a complete list of all the Indie Nail Polish brands that participated in the Santa Sack:

Born Pretty Store Floral Water Decals

Press Sample

Good evening, dear readers. I hope this post finds you well, and you have been having a wonderful week! I feel like this week has flown by so quickly! For tonight's post, I wanted to share a look I created using water decals from Born Pretty Store. I love water decals because they are so fast and easy to use. They definitely are fun for creating different nail art looks! Let's do this!

Each sheet comes with 24 separate floral decals. The ruler along the left side is in cm for the numbered ticks.

I used Literary Lacquers Carrots Carrots and The Mad Ones with these decals to create this look.
These water decals were very easy to apply. I first cut out the decals that I wanted to use and soaked them for about 20 seconds in water. This allowed the decals to float away slightly from the cardboard backing. I then dipped my nails in water and used tweezers to place the decals on my nails. While it isn't entirely necessary to wet your nails first, it helps with placement of the decals. If you place the decals on a dry nail, the decal is fixed in the location it first touches the nail and gets wrinkled if not torn if you try to move it. Having wet nails lets you slide the decal into position easily. I then soaked up the water by placing a papertowel along the side of my nails and very gently patting over the decal.

I really like the colour of these particular decals, and they are going to be perfect for spring! These particular decals can be purchased by visiting here

You can save 10% off regularly-priced items from Born Pretty Store by using promo code QWL91. There are lots of fun things on the site, so be sure to check them out for all your nail art needs!

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!

KBShimmer: Men Are From Mars-ala Swatch and Review

Press Sample

Good afternoon, dear readers! I hope this post finds you well, and you have been having a wonderful week thus far! I am FINALLY feeling well enough to get back to blogging consistently, and I am so happy about that! It feels like forever since I've posted, so let me stop wasting time here, and let's do this!

For your viewing pleasure, I have KBShimmer Men Are From Mars-ala on the blog today. The 2015 Pantone colour of the year is Marsala, an earthy red-brown shade. Christy developed this shade for those that want to sport the colour of the year on their nails, and it is quite a lovely colour! Marsala is the type of colour I would wear on my face: blushes and lip products in particular, and I was curious how I would feel about it on my nails. Let's check out some photos!
I have to say, I am really digging this colour! I enjoy wearing brown and red polishes, and this shade is the perfect go-between for when you want a colour that is a little more neutral but still have a touch of brightness. I'm definitely going to be wearing this shade quite a bit this year!

The formula of Men Are From Mars-ala is really nice: not too thick or thin, and the application was really smooth. I used two easy coats for these swatch photos.

I am so glad to see Men Are From Mars-ala on the KBShimmer line-up, and I naturally have to comment about the name. Christy always has such fun names for her polishes, and Men Are From Mars-ala is awesome!

You can purchase Men Are From Mars-ala and other polishes and products by KBShimmer at the website here. Be sure to follow KBShimmer on Facebook here and Instagram here for shop announcements and previews on future collections!

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
