Turtle Tuesday with Literary Lacquers and MoYou London

Good morning, dear readers, and happy Tuesday! If you've been following me for awhile, I'm sure you've noticed I've been incorporating nail art into my blog a lot recently. I don't often have a lot of time so I am generally limited to fairly quick designs, and occasionally I just cannot decide how I want to paint my nails. After a post this summer when I featured Literary Lacquers Salt and Sweetness with my awesome turtle charm, I decided I really needed to have a Turtle Tuesday post. To celebrate my love of sea turtles, I decided that I would have a Turtle Tuesday post every Tuesday this month. Let's just pretend I didn't miss last Tuesday. I *might* have been a little busy and sleep deprived with a newborn then, lol! Rather than me continue to ramble on like a crazy person, let's get to my first Turtle Tuesday!
To start off my nail art look, I used Stranger Miracles by Literary Lacquers. I originally chose this shade because it was inspired by the sea turtle. It was created as part of the August 2014 "Sea Wonders" themed Holo Grail Box. Here we are in August a whole year later! I'm going to pretend it was intentional and not an accident that it worked out so perfectly. ;)
I then added a "spotted" layer of Zoya Purity by putting a drop on top of water as if I were water marbeling, spritzing alcohol onto the polish, and then dipping my nails into the polish. I then used Zoya Willa on different sea turtle patterns found on the MoYou London Explorer plate #16.
The Zoya white layer ended up a little thicker than I originally wanted, but I really dig this final look!

I hope you have enjoyed my first Turtle Tuesday post! I'll have another one up next week!

Until next time, have a wonderful day!
XO!

Jedi Baby Nails!

Good morning, dear readers! I hope this post finds you well and you have had a wonderful couple of weeks! After a few days at the hospital, I went home with my second son, and I've been spending some quality time with my family. As much as I love the cuddles, I still miss my blog, and while I anticipate posts to be a little sporadic while I continue to get into the swing of things, I'm still around and occasionally getting my polish on!

For today's blog post, I wanted to share the manicure I ended up sporting at the hospital for the birth of the littlest Jedi. Let's check it out!

Polishes and Products Used:
Colors by Llarowe: That Bloo is Mine!
Girly Bits Cosmetics: D!ck in  Box and Push It
NailVinyls: Straights

Oh yes, dear readers, I DID wear those Girly Bits shades! I had originally wanted to do something a little more complex, but the time ran away with me and I could only handle so much when the contractions started. I still had not figured out how I wanted to paint my nails by the time I started having contractions, and it certainly distracted me from designing a nail art look! I quite liked the simplicity of this design, and all the nurses at the hospital loved the holo nails!

My poor middle fingernail ended up a little too short during filing: silly super-short nail bed! It felt odd to shorten my nails this much, but it was definitely a necessity with the tiny buttons and snaps I've been dealing with lately. They've grown a bit in the past almost three weeks, so I'm going to have to file them down again soon.

I hope you've enjoyed today's quick nail art post! Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
XO!

Two exciting new Zoya Nail Polish collections arrive for FALL 2015

FOCUS (creams)

The Zoya Focus Collection features six strong, solid shades that anchor a look for fall as stand-alone shades. The densely pigmented cream formula features a unique, micro-grind pigment that allows for extra-smooth, streak-free application.
·  Charli (ZP807) - a dusty taupe cream with a hint of green, a perfect neutral.
·  Desiree (ZP806) - a classic sable brown cream that has just enough gray to keep it cool in tone.
·  Hannah (ZP805) – a clear, classic red cream with a balanced (neutral) undertone.
·  Janel (ZP804) - a deep red cream with a rich warm undertone.
·  Lidia (ZP803) - a rich eggplant cream with a blackened purple base and just a hint of red resulting in a color that is wearable for most skin tones.
·  Sia (ZP802) - a true, royal blue cream. NOTE: This is a highly pigmented shade - make sure to apply a base coat to prevent staining.

FLAIR (metallics)

Six, jewel toned liquid metal shades. The unique, micro-grind metallic pigment of the Zoya Flair Collection is fully blended into a vibrant base, creating the effect of brilliant colored melted metal!
·  Tris (ZP813) - a blackened, brushed nickel liquid metal.
