KBShimmer: Unicorn Pee Collection

Press Sample

Greetings, dear readers! Do I have a collection to share with you today! KBShimmer is launching their new Unicorn Pee Collection this morning, and you will want to get your hands on these beauties! Christy, the creative genius behind the brand, has managed to get ahold of the elusive pigment which has been dubbed "unicorn pee" by the nail polish community. This fascinating pigment glows a fiery copper red shade that shifts based on the viewing angles to orange, green and gold. KBShimmer had previously released Let's Slang made from this discontinued pigment while at Polish Con Chicago in 2016; this limited edition shade is the most requested KBShimmer ever! Thanks to KBShimmer's search efforts, Let's Slang is back along with three new shift shades. Let's jump in, starting off with the shade that started it all!

Let's Slang

Let's Slang is a deep midnight blue, boarding on blurple, jelly base with color shifting shimmer.

The formula is smooth and easy to work with, and the colour is phenomenal! It's no wonder that Let's Slang is such a highly requested shade! I have it shown here with three coats to opacity plus KBShimmer's Clearly On Top top coat.

Goal Digger

Goal Digger is a deepened teal leaning green with color shifting shimmer. This polish layers well over your favorite cream, in 2 coats has a vibrant teal color, and in 3 coats it takes on a deep forest green shade.

I love a good teal polish, and I am thrilled to see it with the magical unicorn pee pigment! I applied three easy coats to opacity plus Clearly On Top top coat. I also really love the lighter colour with two coats, so I'd suggest layering it over a cream if you want to avoid visible nail line while using fewer coats.

So Jelly

So Jelly is a deepened fuchsia leaning purple jelly with color shifting shimmer. This polish layers well over your favorite cream, in 2 coats has a vibrant pink ruby color, and in 3 coats it takes on a deep garnet shade.

I love the rich red shade of garnets so I naturally had to wear So Jelly at three coats to show this stunning colour! My nail line was no longer visible at three coats, and in true KBShimmer fashion, the formula was perfection! I did enjoy the rich pink version as well although I did still have visible nail line; layering over a base shade will bypass this issue easily.

You Dew You
Layered over Chai-huahua and How You Dune?

Dubbed Unicorn Pee in the nail polish community, this stunning polish has a shimmer that glows a fiery copper red color, shifting based on view angles, to orange, green and gold. You Dew You contains this magical pigment in a clear base, for layering over your favorite cream colors. Try it over Low And Be Bold or Eclipse for a unicorn worth manicure.

Rather than layering over a rich blue or black cream, I wanted to see how You Dew You would play with other shades. I opted to layer it over KBShimmer's Chai-huahua and How You Dune?, and I am loving these combinations! This topper adds a glorious fiery touch to both base shades, and I suspect it would look amazing over just about anything! I used a single coat of You Dew You over my cream base and added KBShimmer's Clearly On Top top coat for these photos.

The Unicorn Pee Collection will be launching today, Monday, September 4th at 9am EST at www.KBShimmer.com. These polishes will retail at $12 each. Even though KBShimmer is not planning to limit the number of bottles purchased, they reserve the right to hold onto orders of more than 5 bottles of each colour to ensure they have enough stock. KBShimmer does not ship outside the US, but international customers can still get ahold of these beauties: these polishes will also be available for purchase from Harlow & Co and Color4Nails.

Are you as excited as I am to see a collection using the beautiful "unicorn pee" pigment? Which shade are you loving the most? What colours would you like to layer You Dew You over? I'd love to hear from you!

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
XO!

Ellagee Polish: Suvion

Press Sample

Greetings, dear readers! I know I don't normally post on Sundays, but I wanted to take a quick break from family fun time and the sweltering heat to share a new polish by Ellagee. This Game of Thrones beauty sounds like the perfect remedy for the ultra high temperatures we've been experiencing and a glimpse at cooler temperatures yet to come.

Named Suvion, this icy blue shade is packed with bright aqua shimmer. It is the newest addition to the Fire Made Flesh Collection inspired by Game of Thrones. This polish represents the latest turn of events for Viserion, the dragon who was killed and awaked by the Night King and now has icy blue eyes and breathes brilliant blue fire. "Suvion" is the word for "ice" on the High Valyrian language.

Not only is this polish exquisite, the formula is fantastic! While preferences vary, I found Suvion to be the perfect consistency for my liking. Not too thick or thin, it applies easily to the nails. I used two coats for opacity and added top coat for extra shine for these photos.

Each bottle of Suvion will also come with this adjustable iridescent snowflake ring on the cap.

Suvion is available for purchase now at ellagee.com! It retails for $12.

Are you a Game of Thrones fan? Will you be picking up this beauty? Do you have the other shades from the Fire Made Flesh Collection? I'd love to hear from you!

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
XO!

CPNA Beauty Find: Saffron Secret Saffron Hair Oil

Press Sample

Hello, Friday! This has felt like the week that never ends, and I am thrilled that the weekend is finally here! This heat wave has zapped me of any energy, so I'm going to keep the chit chat short and jump in on today's blog post while my brain is still working. Today's post features another beauty product I discovered while attending Cosmoprof North America this summer.

I had mentioned Saffron Secret as one of my beauty finds in a previous post, and I am happy to bring the brand back on my blog in its own independent post. I was provided with the Saffron Hair Oil in the original "Style and Shine" formula and have been testing it out for the past six weeks on my hair.

This hair oil is loaded with organic saffron to nourish your hair with concentration Vitamin B2, a key activator of Vitamin B6 and niacin. These B complex vitamins are essential to support a healthy scalp and hair growth. It is a lightweight product that functions as a leave-in conditioner, styling cream, serum and shine spray, all in one fabulous product. With a single pump, you end up with the needed pea-sized amount to massage into your hair ends and up to the mid-length of your hair. I then follow up with a quick brushing to distribute a fraction of the product all the way down to my scalp.

This photo is actually two pumps and more than is necessary to treat your hair, but it showcases the beautiful viscous formula of this hair oil. The Saffron Hair Oil does have a rather strong woodsy scent, so if you are sensitive to smells, you may want to proceed with caution when it comes to using this particular product.

After six weeks of use, I am really happy with the quality of this product. I generally wash my hair every other day, and it adds a nice touch of moisture after my wash on day one, helping to keep my bit of frizz under control for a smooth and shiny finish. Even with using this hair oil on day one, I didn't find my hair too heavy and needing a wash on day two. As far as the scent, even though it is strong, I didn't have any issues with is bothering my sensitive nose. Although I could detect it myself, my husband swears he couldn't really notice the scent, even when he would sniff my hair. I suppose after asking him to smell my hair every few days, I should take him at his word!

Now that my hair has enjoyed testing out a product utilizing the king of spice, I don't know if I could ever go back!

The Saffron Secret Saffron Hair Oil is available for purchase from Amazon. Each bottle is 2oz, and it is currently priced at $59.95. While this does seem like a hefty price tag, Saffron is an expensive spice in general, and I have found that a little truly does go a long way in my hair.

Have you tried any of the hair care products from Saffron Secret? If so, what was your favorite? Do you like to use oils in your hair? I'd love to hear from you!

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day and enjoy the weekend!
