My NYC Nails Featuring Rogue Lacquer's Bayou Mermaid

Greetings, dear readers! I'm currently having some computer/phone interface issues so my post about The Makeup Show in New York City is temporarily on hold. Until then, I thought I would share my nails for the event.

I didn't get my nails painted before I left town, but I knew exactly what I wanted for my manicure for the show. While attending Polish Con last month, I picked up a New Orleans grab bag by Rogue Lacquer. One of the items in the bag was Bayou Mermaid, a polish that was an exclusive created just for in the grab bag. I had been eager to get this beauty on my nails, and with the range of blues in my clothing for the weekend, it was the perfect opportunity. In my liquids bag it was tossed along with a base and top coat so I could be polished in the city. Check it out!

How pretty is this polish! The icy blue base is accented with blue shimmers and flakies in a plethora of colours.

This polish was a little on the sheer side, and I needed to use three coats to reach opacity on my nails. In spite of all the flakes, the application was a dream come true! They do give a bit of a textured feeling to the nails, but a couple coats of top coat smoothed my nails down nicely.

This polish is gorgeous, and I hope you picked up a New Orleans grab bag! Unfortunately it is no longer available on the website, but it totally needed some time to shine here on my blog! There are many other stunning Rogue Lacquer shades available with more on the way, so be sure to check out the website!

Cross your fingers for me that I am able to figure out my phone/computer interface issues so I can get my post on The Makeup Show soon!

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful evening!
XO!

St. Patrick's Nail Art Design with Rogue Lacquer and Shamrock Vinyls

Press Sample

Greetings, dear readers, and happy hump day! It's an early one here for me as I will be on my way to the airport with my oldest son. As a kindergartener, it is his first official Spring Break, and we're going to be visiting with some friends up in Northern California that we left behind with our move. I'll also be doing some work while there, but we're both really excited to be going. Now on to today's post!

St. Patrick's Day is right around the corning, and I wanted to create a fun look for it. I have the exquisite Ugly But Interesting by Rogue Lacquer that I've been dying to wear, and this was the perfect opportunity to pull out this unusual green shade.

I also had these cute Shamrock vinyls that I was sent with a birthday package last year. I had originally planned to use them as a stencil but sadly the stencil didn't perform as I intended. I had to switch gears and use the vinyls as stickers instead.

I paired the Rogue Lacquer and the vinyl stickers with Rica Whiteout.

While this isn't exactly what I had in mind, I'm still enjoying my final look. I am completely smitten with Ugly But Interesting and find it to be anything but ugly!

I hope you've enjoyed my festive nail art look!

Are you painting your nails green for St. Patrick's Day? I'd love to hear from you!

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
XO!
