Good morning, dear readers! I hope this post finds you well and you have been enjoying the start to a new week. For today's post, I have a few lovely polishes and a fun cuticle oil made by Kristin of Northern Star Polish to share, and I hope you enjoy them! Let's get to some pictures!
Peacock Party
Peacock Party is a dark teal blue color with a light linear holographic finish, wiggle your fingertips and see a party of peacocks appear!
Hehehe, I love this description, and it really is quite accurate! Peacock Party is just a fun shade to wear, and if teal is your thing, you definitely want this stunner in your collection. The formula was flawless, and I used two coats for this photo.
Yummy Plummy
A deep purple linear holographic polish, Yummy Plummy is another lovely holo polish from Northern Star. I don't wear brighter purple polishes often (I love my dusty purples), but Yummy Plummy just might change that for me. This is the perfect shade of purple: not too light, not too dark, and so pretty! I used two coats for this photo.
Mulberry
Oh man, swatching Mulberry has been the polish that has delayed this post. I swatched it three times and took hundreds of photos, but I still couldn't quite capture the beauty of this polish. A dark mauve/purple polish with twinkling mica flakes and shifting micro glitter, Mulberry is my favorite of these polishes in this blog post. It has an amazing depth that you just have to see on your nails to believe. Mulberry is a special release polish, and $5 from every bottle sold is donated to the National Network to End Domestic Violence. I'm sad that there is a need for this organization, and they have several projects in place that provide resources and assistance to those experiencing domestic violence, sexual violence, and stalking. I'm so glad to see Norther Star Polish supporting this organization, and you can help too buy purchasing a bottle. I used two coats for this photo.
Ever After over Mulberry
Ever After is a clear-based glitter topper consisting of metallic purple shreds, gold stars, and squares and hexes in various sizes. I love glitter polishes, and Ever After is beautiful! I love that Kristin kept to a smaller colour palette (gold and purple) and she was still able to make it interesting by playing with different shapes and shades of colour. It definitely makes it easier to match with a larger variety of base colours. I chose to swatch it over Mulberry in the hopes that those in pain will get their (happily) Ever After. It applies easily with a little dab here and a little swish there, and I did not have to fish for any of the glitters. The stars are a little more sparse than the other shapes, but I did not have to search for them either. I used about one and a half coats for the above photo. The half coat was just where I filled in some slightly bare areas on my nails. I then followed up with a coat of Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat.
Lettuce-Scented Cuticle Oil
Yes, dear readers, you did read that right- this cuticle oil is lettuce scented! I've never seen lettuce as a scent option for anything before, and I have to say, it is pretty awesome! It is a nice clean and light scent, and I think it is perfect for spring. I also adore the packaging and application method for this cuticle oil. You have probably seen many doe-foot applications for applying lip glosses, so my first thought was admittedly the choice in application was a little odd. After testing it out, I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Seriously, it is a great way to apply oil to the cuticles! Only a little bit of oil comes out on the applicator at a time and the applicator allows plenty of control to where you want the oil to go. The oil itself it very hydrating, and it definitely keeps my cuticles happy!
These and other polishes and cuticle oil scents can by purchased by visiting the North Star Polish etsy shop. You can also follow Northern Star Polish on her Facebook page and on Instagram.
Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day! <3
