DIFFERENT dimension Winter 2014 Collection

Good evening, dear readers! I hope this post finds you well! I wish I could say things were going well for me, but I seem to have come down with a nasty bug. I still wanted to get these photos shared with you so you can plan your indie shopping adventures this weekend.

For tonight's post, I have the beautiful 10-piece Winter 2014 collection from Missi of DIFFERENT dimension. I have been following Missi's work closely, and I get really excited when I hear she has a new collection coming out! One of my favorite things about her brand (other than Missi herself, of course; she is such a sweetheart!) is she creates polishes in such a vast array of finishes. There really is something for everyone, whether you're into holographic polishes, microglitters, flakies, or if you're like me, you love them ALL! The upcoming Winter 2014 Collection contains all these types of polishes, and I hope you're ready for a picture-heavy post! Let's do this!

Christmas at Tiffany's
Tiffany blue crelly with assorted glitters in whites and silvers

Christmas at Tiffany's is just beautiful, and I love the random star glitters I found while painting my nails. It applied pretty easily for me- the glitters spread out nicely and I didn't have to dig for any glitters. The stars did like to stick into the brush on occasion, something I expect with this particular shape, but they came off with a little coaxing. I used three coats plus top coat for these photos.

Sexy and I Snow It
Indoor Lighting
Sunlight
Gold and Silver full coverage microglitter in a holographic base

If you liked DIFFERENT dimension Big Bang, then you will love Sexy and I Snow It! So much bling in one small bottle! I personally love the textured feeling of microglitter polishes when they dry, so I opted to not use top coat here to show off the awesome texture. I used two easy coats for these photos.

Berry Christmas
Indoor Lighting
Sunlight
Holographic fuchsia polish with added shimmers

I adore berry shades, especially as a holo! Berry Christmas is so rich and vibrant and perfect! The formula was really nice as well, and I used two easy coats for these photos. It was almost a one coater for me, so one might be enough for you if you tend to paint with slightly thicker coats.

TREEmendous
Indoor Lighting
Sunlight
Holographic green polish with added gold flakies and shimmer

TREEmendous is one of my top picks from this collection; just look at those gold flakies! I'm seriously in lust with those gold flakes, and I really like how they play with this peridot-green shade. I used two smooth coats for these photos. One thing to note is I did have slight staining on my skin with removal, but I did not have any staining on my nails. A little scrubbing took it off, but it's something to keep in mind when you remove it. This shade is totally worth it!

Note to Elf...
Indoor Lighting
Sunlight
Rich dark green holographic polish with added shimmer

I loved Note to Elf... when I first saw it- I just cannot resist a beautiful dark green polish! The blue shimmers add a beautiful facet to this stunning polish, and I know I'll be grabbing this beauty a lot! I used two flawless coats for these swatch photos.

No One Elsa But You
Indoor Lighting
Sunlight
Holographic silvery blue polish with added shimmers, microglitters and sterling silver flakies

I have never seen Frozen. There, I said it. I had to get that off my chest before writing this segment on my review. In spite of not having seen the movie, I DO know that Elsa is one of the characters so I can appreciate the brilliance in the name of this polish. It might be just a little too silvery blue for me to technically pull it off with my skin tone, but this colour is just too gorgeous to not wear! I'm not sure if I'm more excited about the blue microglitters or the silver flakes, but this is a must have from this collection! I used two easy (and sparkly!) coats for these photos.

Ready Set Snow
White crelly with silvery glitters and shimmers. Ready Set Snow also glows in the dark!

I have a feeling that no matter how old I get, I will always have a soft spot for glow in the dark polishes. I'm usually a little hesitant with white based polishes- I feel like they look so stark against my skin tone, but the combination of glitters and shimmers helps to tone down the white and give it an almost grey look. It reminds me of granite! It applied pretty easily for me. Because of the nature of glow in the dark pigments, the formula is a little gritty. It's not hard to work with by any means, but it definitely is noticeable if you don't wear glow in the dark indie shades often. I used two coats and topped my nails off with topcoat for these photos. As you can see, it still glows nicely with topcoat!

Nose So Bright
Bright red jelly polish with sterling silver flakies

Nose So Bright is another one of my top picks from this collection. I could stare at those silver flakies for hours! This polish is also deliciously squishy, and I'm actually wearing it on my toes right now! I used three coats for opacity. If you don't mind some visible nail line, you can easily use less or layer it over another polish.

Yule Be Sorry
No topcoat
With topcoat
Red and green microglitters in a red jelly base

So much glitter! I'm not sure when I became a fan of textured polishes, but I dig Yule Be Sorry in its rough textured state. The down side to the textured version is the beautiful green glitters do get lost; they really require topcoat to make them pop. I think it is nice either way, and it really just depends on the look you are going for. Yule Be Sorry applied really easily in two coats for these photos. For the topcoat photo, I added a coat of Gelous and then HK Girl topcoat to make my nails smooth.

Holly Up Already
Over Zoya Ray
Classic Christmas glitter topper, red and green glitters in assorted sizes

I feel like I don't see as many glitter toppers in the indie polish community as I used to, and I am glad to see one in this collection. The glitters are nicely festive, and it will look great over a variety of base shades. I dabbed the glitters over my base, and the glitters spread out pretty easily for me. I didn't have any issues with glitters clumping nor did I have to dig for glitters. I also really like this ratio of glitter to base, and you probably could cover your nails entirely with this polish if you really wanted to with careful application to ensure coverage. I used about a coat of Holly Up Already and added topcoat for these photos.

I am really thrilled with this new collection, and there are several great shades to choose from! Missi did an amazing job designing this collection, and the names are a delight!

The Winter 2014 Collection will be released November 15th (that's THIS Saturday!) at 9pm EST on the DIFFERENT dimension website. In addition to this collection, Missi is also bringing back Why Am I Such a Misfit?, You're Not Making Any Frankincense, I Only Have Ice For You, Don't Be the Santa of Everything, and Mistle-Toad from the 2013 Happy Holly Days Collection.

I have been a big fan of DIFFERENT dimension cuticle oils since their release this summer, and Missi will be offering new seasonal scents starting the 15th as well. The new Cuticle Oil scents will include Spiced Cranberry, Hot Buttered Rum, and White Truffle Raspberry. They will be available in pens (2.7mL for $4.50) and in dropper bottles (15mL for $6.50). Also, DIFFERENT dimension will be launching new solid lotion bars. These bars contain shea butter and jojoba oil, and your hands will thank you for keeping the winter dryness away! Lotion bars will retail for $7.50 for a 2oz bar, and they are packaged in a metal tin container.

Phew! That's A LOT of new polishes, cuticle oil offerings and a new product; I don't know how she does it! I know I'm excited for Saturday; I've got my eye on the new Hot Buttered Rum scent in particular right now. Yum!

What colours are you thinking of picking up from this collection? Will you be trying out the new lotion bars? I'd love to hear from you!

I'm probably going to be quiet over the next day or two while I recover from being sick, but I'll be back as soon as I can! Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful night!
XO!
