Superchic Lacquer: Bring It On! Base Coat Review

Good morning, dear readers, and happy Saturday! I'm definitely up and posting much earlier than normal, but this past week I seem to be in a GO GO GO mood; why should the weekend be an exception? Hopefully you all have something fun planned so I can live vicariously through you for a little while!

For today's blog post, I have the new Bring It On! base coat by Superchic Lacquer to share with you.
Now, let's be real here. It's hard to get excited about base coat. It's essentially a clear polish that always ends up covered up by pretty colours, so who cares, right? Well, dear readers, I have to disagree! While I don't always wear base coat when I am in swatch mode, I've dealt with my fair share of staining polishes to really appreciate a good base coat when I find one. Bring It On! base coat is the real deal!

I admit, I was slightly too afraid to try this out with my swatch hand with some of my serious stainers- you know, the ones that leave you with highlighter yellow fingers in spite of already wearing two coats of another base coat?
Yeah, that's me. Now tell me that's not sexy! I had used two coats of a different base coat prior to the offending polish and still ended up with these deliciously witchy nails. To add insult to injury, I was NEVER able to remove all the staining in spite of trying every method that was suggested to me by the online polish community. Jelly nail polishes no longer wanted to be my friend, and that really hurt.
Dear readers, I am happy to say that stained nails is now a thing of the past for me! I was a little apprehensive about the claims that the new Bring It On! base coat would be the ultimate stain blocker, colour bonder, polish shipping preventer and all that jazz it was rumored to be. It certainly sounded too good to be true, and my soul was still reeling from outgrowing yellow nails. I have to say, I was surprised and very impressed with this base coat!
You see the superhero logo on the bottle? Oh yeah, this base coat really DOES save the day, at least for my nails. I used this base coat under everything for over a month, from random polishes I had to swatch on my swatch hand and to some of my most offensive stainers (because the hoarder in me can't get rid of them) on my non-swatch hand- hey, you can't honestly blame me for not wanting to put myself through that again, right? I think the part that surprised me the most is that the formula is rather thin and watery so HOW could it POSSIBLY prevent staining? I'm not really sure dear readers, but it does seem to be magic in a bottle.

Because I change my nail polish very often, I could only truly test out the stain prevention abilities of this base coat. That being said, I tested it out on my non-swatch hand and left polish on for 3-4 days at a time, what feels like forever to me, and I didn't have any chipping either. Obviously the brand of coloured polish is going to play a role in this in addition to choice of top coat, but Bring It On! base coat does seem to help keep polish in place, certainly better than going without!

Bring It On! base coat is currently available for purchase on the Wonder Beauty Etsy site here. There is also a Superchic Lacquer online boutique here, although the base coat is currently out of stock at that location at the time of this post. Be sure to follow Wonder Beauty/Superchic Lacquer on FacebookInstagram, and Twitter for shop news and announcements.

Until next time, dear readers, have a great day and enjoy the weekend!
XO!

  3. I'm going to have to look into this one! I've lost count of how many base coats I've tried with the same results - peeling polish. Maybe I'll find some luck with this one!

    1. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it when it comes to peeling polish! I so rarely have that problem, and that would be good info to know!

  4. I must be weird, but I GENUINELY don't care about staining - I do nail art every few days, never nekkid nails, so what's the problem if I have a stained nail, you know?
    : )
Never had witchy nails like that though, I gotta admit - IMPRESSIVE.

    1. LOL! My nails are always painted so staining isn't always a problem for me. That being said, I do wear jellies with some frequency, and staining really ruins the look of those polishes. And I'm happy? you're impressed with my witchy nails! LMAO!

  5. Whoa, I need this in my life. I just used a grass green holo and my nails turned that yellow, and it took me an HOUR of buffing to get it out.
