Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Innocence in the Moment Collection and a new Siren

Press Sample

Good morning, dear readers! I hope your week has been off to a fantastic start! If not, hopefully the pretty little collection in today's post will lift your spirits. Staring at such beautiful polish certainly helped me feel better! Let's do this!

For today's blog post, I wanted to share the new Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Innocence in the Moment collection launching next week in addition to a stunning new Siren. Let's start with the collection, shall we? Just a quick note about the polishes from Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer: they are designed to be opaque in one to two coats so the formula is on the thicker side. I personally prefer to swatch polishes exactly as I receive them and generally like a slightly thicker formula to begin with. You may need to thin these down to your desired consistency. Now on to the details!

The Seasons Change
One coat plus Top Coat

Berry pink linear holographic with platinum micro-flakies

I love the look of this berry holo shade, and I really wish I was able to capture a better closeup photo. This polish is so beautiful! While the formula is thicker than some other brands, I still found it easy to work with, and I only needed one coat for opacity. Hallelujah! This is definitely my kind of pink, and this baby will certainly be getting a lot of love from me!
Full bottle: $12          Mini bottle: $6

I Only Meant to Stay a While
Two coats plus Top Coat

Emerald green jelly with micro holographic glitters in green, silver, blue, and purple

I Only Meant to Stay a While did not want to photograph nicely for me no matter what I did. While it is a deep green, it is a little darker in these photos than it is in real life. This polish is gorgeous; it certainly took my breath away when I had it on my nails! While I swatched it as received, I will end up adding a drop or two of thinner to this when I wear it again. It was a little too thick for my taste, making application just a little tricky but not impossible. It is jam packed with tiny glitters, and I suspect that is the reason the thicker formula was harder to work with. Also, you will want to be sure to have top coat to add over this as the finish is very gritty without it. Trust me, it is well worth it!
Full bottle: $8.50         Mini bottle: $5

Chasing the Skyline
Two coats plus Top Coat

Royal blue with rainbow iridescent flakies

Thank you, The Devil Wears Prada, for teaching me that this shade is cerulean. I love this base colour so much and the additional rainbow flakies are to die for! I'm loving this shade in particular right now because it reminds me of the blue skies that I am missing due to the current rainy season here. I'll have to thin this one down a little as well, but the application was pretty easy overall. The first coat was a little on the patchy side, but the second coat fixed it up nicely for me. I have no idea why my index finger photographed with a "ridge" as I could not see it at all with my eyes. This polish is gorgeous!
Full bottle: $8.50         Mini bottle: $5

Basking in the Storm
Two coats plus Top Coat

Amethyst purple with blue and aqua shimmers

Oh my! This purple! I don't know if I can even find the words to describe just how much I love this polish! It seems like there are so many bright and vibrant purples on the market and just nowhere near as many darker and ever so slightly muted purples. Basking in the Storm has such delicious moodiness to it that is lacking elsewhere, and the shimmers add just the perfect amount of brightness. A little patchy with the first coat, Basking in the Storm leveled out nicely with the second coat. While I have it shown with a glossy top coat, I noticed it does dry to a nice semi satin finish if you prefer a more toned down shade. Truly a beautiful polish anyway, and it is perfect for all you February babies that like wearing your birthstone colours on your nails.
Full bottle: $8.50         Mini bottle: $5

I am really excited about this collection, and if that wasn't awesome enough, there is a stunning new Siren being released next week as well. Just look at this!

Snowbunny Siren (LE)
Two coats plus Top Coat

Periwinkle linear holographic with larger platinum flakies and gold glass flecks

While it is described as periwinkle, I found Snowbunny to be more of a Carolina Blue. Carolina may be my alma mater's rival, but I have to admit they chose a lovely colour! Added to a beautiful base colour are the most amazing flakies and glass flecks that make this polish phenomenal. I have actually been wearing this shade for three days now (without any chipping or tipwear, I might add), and that is quite a long time for me. Because it is so full of flakies and grass flecks, you'll likely want to add a couple drops of thinner as it did make the formula a little on the thicker side, although it was still fairly easy to apply as is.
Full bottle: $12          Mini bottle: Not Available

The Innocence in the Moment collection will be sold in a preorder format that will start January 27th at 3:30pm EST through January 29th at 3:30pm EST. The Snowbunny Siren will not be part of the preorder; it is only going to be available as first-come-first-serve starting January 27th at 3:30pm EST. Because Snowbunny Siren is limited edition, you will want to grab it if you have the chance; you definitely don't want to miss this one! As for the Innocence in the Moment collection, all four shades are truly beautiful in their own way, and you can't go wrong with any of them. I know I certainly need them all in my life!

The Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer shop can be found here.

What shades are grabbing your attention? Are any must haves for you? I'd love to hear from you!

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
XO!
