Good afternoon, dear readers! I hope this week finds you well thus far! I have had quite a busy day already, but I got to bed early last night so I've been bright eyed and bushy-tailed today. I actually didn't need a cup of coffee this morning! I may be regretting that decision in another hour or two, but for now, I'm wide awake! Let's get to today's post!
It is HOT HOT HOT around here the past few days, so what better way to appreciate the searing sun than with the neon polishes from the China Glaze Lite Brites collection! I've been missing nail art lately, so I created a few vibrant looks using the colours in the collection. Let's check them out!
This is one of my favorite looks; I just LOVE this colour combination! I used Lime After Lime, None Of Your Risky Business, and What I Like About Blue to create this water marbled look. I wanted to add a little extra pop of colour, so I used these fabulous bright round studs from Firecracker Lacquer for a little more whimsy. I definitely need to play with this combination again!
I had some cute fimo sticks waiting for me to use for what feels like forever, and new China Glaze shades I Got A Blue Attitude and Let's Jam were the perfect match with these star shaped flowers. I wanted to keep the look simple so I went with a gradient before adding the fimo cutouts. I completed the look by adding blue star-shaped glitters to complement the fimo star flowers.
This particular nail art look was a testament to my patience. I believe this final look was the fifth attempt to create it! I really wanted to water marble with I'll Pink To That and Lip Smackin' Good, but the two polishes got horribly muddled together. I don't find the formula of Lip Smackin' Good to be ideal for water marbling, but you never know if you don't try! I instead used it as a base and stamped over it with I'll Pink To that with the water marbled image from Girly Bits Cosmetics stamping plate GBC 1-01. I painted my other nails with We Got The Beet and then added fimo and stud accents. I totally planned to put the flowers on the solid background and gold studs on the marbled-looking nails, and I got distracted as I was applying them. Oops! That's what 4 hours of sleep at night does to me, and as this was the fifth time doing this look, I was not going to do it again. I still think it's cute, so I may try this again later.
This final look is currently on my nails now, and I'm really loving it! It's my favorite look of these, and my husband says it is so "me"....whatever that means! I started off by adding Whip It Good for my base, and I then splattered on Bite Me, Hot Flash, and Papa Don't Peach. This had completed the collection, but my nails were begging for a little something extra. I used China Glaze Liquid Leather with UberChic Beauty plate 8-02 to stamp on these fantastic dots over the splatter.
The China Glaze Lite Brites Collection is available for purchase from Ulta and Sally Beauty stores and websites now! These shades are perfect for sizzling nail art looks!
Do you have a favorite shade from this collection? What kind of nail art look do you like with neons? I'd love to hear from you!
Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
