Red and Green When Colours Collide with New Ever After Polish Top Coat

Press Sample and Purchased Items

Greetings, dear readers! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and your week is off to a fabulous start! It's the final week before Christmas, and for those of you that celebrate, I hope you've already finished all your shopping and wrapping and can just relax this last week leading up to the holiday! I'm 99% I'm done with everything I need to do, although I'm sure something will pop up at the last moment that slipped my mind. Once again time has slipped away from me and I've not taken the time to create the numerous nail art designs I've had floating in my head. I'm hoping to get at least one more look created when I've got some free time. At least I DO have a look to share with you today! Let's check it out!

I've mentioned in a previous post that I am a member of the Facebook Group When Colours Collide, and I had to take part in the most recent "red and green only" colour challenge. There were no limits on techniques used, and we were only limited to using the two colours. Of course you could always use as many variations of red and green as you pleased, although I chose to keep my design simple.

As mentioned in the title of this post, Ever After Polish has a new top coat that will be launching early next time, and I was sent a bottle to test out. One of my nail art pet peeves is having the perfect stamped image on my nails only to have top coat ruin my crisp lines in spite of careful floating of top coat. I decided to put the Ever After top coat to to test with this colour challenge, and I am THRILLED to report it plays beautifully with stamped nails! There is a small spot where the stamped image dragged, but that was entirely my fault as I thought there was polish on the brush but it was dry. Polishing with distractions is not always my friend! The top coat dried quickly for me, and I put this manicure to the additional test of wearing it for 5 days. Hey, that's a long time for me to wear one look!
Five days later and this design still looks as good as the day I put it on! With some other top coats, I end up with shrinkage along the eponychium and/or the side walls usually by the second day, but there was no shrinkage! I had wrapped my tips since I wanted to do a little wear test as well, and I had no noticeable wear after five days. My tips were wrapped with colour before being wrapped with top coat, and five days later, there was STILL colour overlapping my tips! I don't know if this has been a particularly easy week for me regarding my hands or if this top coat really is just *THAT* good, but call me impressed!
I still plan to test this top coat with other brands of polishes, but it plays beautifully with Different Dimension Nauti Girl (my fabulous tomato red base) and Born Pretty Store Stamping polish in #37. This awesome modern Christmas tree stamping image is from the UberChic Beauty Christmas-02 stamping plate.

At the time of this posting, there is no official launch date of the Ever After Polish top coat, but it is planned to be launched early next year. Be sure to follow Ever After Polish on social media (Facebook, Polished Princesses Facebook Group, and Instagram) for announcements on when it will be available for purchase!

This was a fun challenge, and there were so many fabulous designs created with the colour prompt! If you are looking for a nail art challenge, I definitely encourage you to check out When Colours Collide! The next colour challenge should be announced soon if you want to participate.

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
XO!
