KBShimmer Beignet Done That for the Road to Polish Con

Press Sample

Greetings, dear readers! It feels like it has been forever since I've sat down and written for my blog, but it's only been two weeks! I hope you can pardon my sudden absence. After keeping the blog running at my normal pace with packing up for a move, the move itself, and starting to settle in at my new house, it just became way too much for me. As much as I had tried to avoid taking any time off, I was in desperate need of a breather. I took advantage of my time by starting to get my office set up and box after box of polish unpacked. My office is quite a disaster at the moment, but I can still work around it and can see the light at the end of the tunnel finally. Now let's jump in on this evening's blog post!

My new office was set up last week, in time for the latest KBShimmer nail polish shade to land at my house. This spring, The Polish Convention will be held in New Orleans, and Christy has created an inspired shade for the Road to Polish Con shopping event. Let's get a closer look at Beignet Done That.

Beignet Done That was inspired by the traditional green, purple and gold of Mardi Gras. This multichrome polish shifts between hues of green and purple all while golden flakes and holographic micro flakes strut their stuff among the changing background.

There is no doubt that this polish deserves a spot on Bourbon Street, decorating one's nails while they hold a Hurricane or one of a plethora of daiquiri flavors while chatting with friends, both old and new.

While this polish is loaded to the gills with flakes, I am happy to report that application was a breeze. The formula was a great consistency, not too thick or thin for my liking, and the flakes glide off the brush without any clumping or dragging of the base polish.

The pigmentation of this beauty is nice, and I only needed two coats for full opacity on the nails. The flakes do leave a semi textures appearance, but a good layer of top coat smoothed my nails out nicely for me.

Beignet Done That is exclusive to the Road to Polish Con and can be purchased on the website here. Each bottle retails for $10; there is no cap or limit on the number of bottles made available. Please note that this has been listed with the first group of Road of Polish Con polishes (Group A), and it will only be available for purchase until February 3rd.

After having to miss out on the past couple of Polish Cons, I am thrilled to share that I will be attending this spring! KBShimmer found such a great way to capture the location, and if you're a fan of multichromes and flakes, you're going to want to add this to your polish collection!

  4. i like mardis gras colors. you know, I went to NOLA about 7 years ago, (before gf), and I don't get the hype over beignets. but i don't care for donuts either, so maybe that's why i wasn't moved by them.
