Native American-Inspired Nail Art with China Glaze

Good morning, dear readers! I hope this post finds you well and you are having a wonderful week so far. It's been a fun week at the Jedi household introducing our toddler to his own big boy bed, upgrading from the toddler bed; I'm one proud momma watching him grow up!

In my previous post, I shared swatches of the new China Glaze Desert Escape collection. I included an accent nail in those swatches, and I wanted to show you the full nail art look I ended up with in addition to the details on how I created it. Let's check it out!
The middle nails are definitely my favorite, but I had a stamping plate with images that I wanted to test out with these polishes just to see how well they would stamp. On to the details!
This is the one you've seen before today, and since I was asked about how I created it, I thought it would be the best place to start. I started out using What's She Dune? as a base colour, and I then sponged on a gradient of Rain Dance the Night Away, Don't Mesa With My Heart, and What's She Dune?. I then used these handy decals by YouPolish with Meet Me in the Mirage to add the beautiful geometric design.
I fell in love with this particular gradient so I had to do it again (same details as above)! I wanted this nail to be a little different though, so I used these decals from KBShimmer for this fun look.
I really wanted to test out Meet Me in the Mirage to see how well it would stamp. No matter how many times I attempted this, I still ended up with small gaps in the stamping plate that just did not take any polish. I don't think this particular polish is the best for stamping, especially if you want a very solid colour for the stamp, but the overall effect is still quite pretty. I used this stamping plate from Born Pretty Store for both this stamped finger and the dream catcher (separate photo not shown, stamped with Rain Dance the Night Away).
I really enjoyed creating this look and putting the China Glaze Desert Escape collection to the test with different nail art techniques.

What do you think of this look? Would you try something similar? I'd love to hear from you!

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
XO!

    1. Says who? You can rock them on nubs! I really like nubs and wish my nail beds were just a little longer so mine weren't so short. I bet yours look fantastic! :D
