Destination Polish Collaboration with Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer and Superficially Colorful

Press Sample

Good evening, dear readers, and happy Monday! This weekend seemed to fly by and I have nothing to show for it! What started out last week as one sick kiddo has turned into two sick littles so I've been spending a lot of time around the house taking care of them. As often as they've been sit lately, I am really starting to question putting the oldest in part time preschool! Yikes! I digress, so let me get to polish.
If you've been following along with releases by Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer, you know that Julie, the creative mastermind behind the brand, has been partnering up with other indie brands to create the Destination Duo Series. I have the latest duo for your enjoyment tonight; this month’s Destination Polish Duo is a collaboration with Superficially Colorful!  The polishes were based off of this photo that Jin took while in Morocco.

"Once upon a time, they actually were the water sellers, a bright and colorful offer of water, shade, and rest for the ones crossing the desert. Today however, no one uses their water anymore, and they make a fine living out of being paid for taking their pictures... They do carry a glorious past in their gorgeous outfit."

Let's get a closer look at the duo! Guests first!

Superficially Colorful
Squashing Water
Two coats plus top coat

Warm red base polish packed with gold holographic microglitters, gold shimmers and red and gold micro-flakies. Dries very lightly textured, almost smooth! For a glossy shine you may add a top coat but the polish sparkles so bright in the sun that you may not need any top coat

I love a warm red shade, but it is the additional pops of gold that win my heart. I think it has become my mission to acquire every colour with these beautiful golden micro-flakies! This is such a rich shade, and I really enjoy wearing these warmer shades over the summer. Squashing Water applied really nicely for me, and I did decide to add top coat for these photos for just a little extra smoothness and shine.

Superficially Colorful Mani Bomb
Moroccan Sweet Mint

Natural handmade mani fizzy with luxurious cocoa butter to keep your skin moisturized and soft. Organic virgin Avocado oil adds both to the light green color and the luxurious feel. Scented with Moroccan Sweet Mint, to wrap the Moroccan colors experience.

I have a confession to make here. I haven't tried this yet, but I wanted to get the post up tonight. My hands are currently a little irritated since the weekend, and I'm not sure if a mani bomb is a good or an awful idea for me right now. I can say that it smells fantastic though! It has a light minty scent that is far from overpowering; I'm definitely looking forward to using it!

Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer
Marrakesh’s Colorful Mirage
Three coats plus top coat

Clear base polish packed with gold holographic microglitters, gold shimmers, green micro-flakies, and accents of navy, red, green, orange, and yellow holographic microglitters.  Dries textured.  Needs topcoat for a glossy shine.

This shade coordinates so perfectly with Squashing Water! Of course that is to be expected given that they came from the same inspiration photo, but I feel like these in particular work so well together. Ok, perhaps not so much with the pseudo-gradient, but on altering nails, this combo is perfect! Marrakesh's Colorful Mirage applied really nicely, and I didn't have to put in any extra effort to avoid nail exposure. I really dig this colour, and I have a feeling it's going to be getting a lot of love from me!

This duo is currently available for purchase from the Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer shop located here and Superficially Colorful's shop located here. The cost is $20 shipped domestically in the USA from BEGL and Israel from SCL or $26 internationally. Both shops do ship internationally so if it sells out from one, you have the option of purchasing it from either shop.

What do you think of this set? Does it make you want to go to Morocco too? What other destinations are you hoping to see covered with this series? I'd love to hear from you!

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful night!
XO!

  5. My youngest is going to start half a day preschool in the fall and I am not looking forward to the return of the constant colds. My oldest is in 3rd grade and at least by now they are better at hand washing and not spreading germs all over. Anyway, the polishes look gorgeous! I love how well they go together.
