Indigo Bananas Fall Picks: Colourful Holos!

Good morning, dear readers, and happy hump day! I hope you are having a wonderful week so far! I was a little sick earlier this week, presumably because of the recent weather changes so I opted to take my normal blogging day off and get some rest. Well, as much rest as one can get with a toddler and infant around, haha! My husband took care of the boys last night so I could go to bed super early, and I'm definitely feeling more like myself today. Now if the weather can stay constant or at least have the changes be more gradual, that would be great!

I recently posted about the second Crèmè à la Mode box (which is currently available for preorder this week!), and one of the brands in the box is Indigo Bananas. While the box is specific towards a creme finish, Andrea, the creative mastermind behind Indigo Bananas, is skilled at making gorgeous polishes in a range of finishes. For today's blog post, I wanted to share some of her stunning holographic shades I am drawn to this season. Let's check them out!

Olive Time & Space
A medium to medium-dark green-brown / olive polish with a strong linear holographic effect

I LOVE LOVE LOVE olive green shades, and Olive Time & Space has certainly won me over! Some days I want a little colour but nothing too bright; this shade is perfect! It's also a great shade for something just a little different for the holidays instead of the more traditional brighter greens. The formula is a little thinner than I'm used to, and I had to work a little slower to prevent cuticle flooding, but it was still a great polish. I used three coats for opacity.

Rhythm & Booze
A purple linear holographic with a bright blue flame. It is a warm leaning purple, but not plum, and more of a 'royal purple' shade. The holographic flame gives this polish the illusion that it is more blue leaning than it is.

I am totally digging the name of Rhythm & Booze, and just look at the colour! It is so vibrant that is glows! I have no issues to report with the formula of this majestic shade; I used two coats for these photos.

Synonym Bun
Warm reddish brown linear holo with a strong flame

Oh man, where do I even begin with this one! I guess I'll start off with the name. A fun fact you may not know about me is I am a fan of Weird Al Yankovic parodies, and Word Crimes is arguably my favorite. I totally need to be wearing this next time my toddler and I are jamming to it!
Now on to the colour. Dude. Yeah, just me saying that is saying a lot. You guys, I just want to swim in a vat of this! This is *the* colour I think of when I think of fall (other than my beloved orange, of course!), and I am drooling over this shade. The formula is a touch thin so beware of cuticle flooding, but other than that, the formula was fantastic. I used three coats for these photos. I almost got away with two coats, so if you tend to paint with a heavier hand, you might find two is enough for you.

Call Me Mabel
A lavender leaning pink, strong linear holographic polish, with a blue flash and small holographic shimmer

I wasn't sure how I would feel about Call Me Mabel when I first saw it in the bottle, but I suspected it would be too pink for my taste. Was I wrong about that! I adore this shade- it is so feminine and delicate! With days filled with so much dirt and mud thanks to my toddler, I have really grown to appreciate the little things that make me feel like I am a pretty female. That's certainly not to say boys can't sport this shade- my son really likes pink actually and currently has his nails painted, but this colour does scream "GIRL!!!" to me. Other than being a little thin and having to watch for cuticle flooding, the formula was great! I used three coats for these photos.

I am blown away by these nail lacquers from Indigo Bananas! The formulas may be a little thinner than I am used to working with, but they are still easy to use and the colour payoff on my nails is breath-taking. I am having a difficult time choosing a favorite from these four glorious shades- they each offer something a little different depending on my mood. They are definitely must-have shades!

You can pick up these and other striking polishes from Indigo Bananas here. Trust me, you won't regret it!

What are your favorite shades by Indigo Bananas? I'd love to hear from you!

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
XO!
