Happy Monday, dear readers! I may be the only person on the planet that is happy to see Monday today! This past weekend was packed with assorted activities, and while the work week is busy for other reasons, I don't have any specific activities planned and can just go with the flow. One of the activities that kept me busy this past weekend was a trip to the San Francisco zoo! My oldest turned four last month, and while we were planning to go for his birthday, it just wasn't in the cards for us with the youngest being sick, the oldest then getting very sick, and then rain storms coming through. This was the first that everything worked out in our favor, and the family piled into my car for a drive down to San Francisco for a large portion of the day. Naturally, I had to create a zoo-inspired nail art look for the occasion! Let's check it out!
I had already decided I needed to wear my LuLaRoe jaguar print Nicole dress for the occasion, so I wanted my nails to match. My dress is the traditional light tan, black, and golden yellow, but I wanted to include a nice pop of colour to complement the look.
To create this look, I used Envy Lacquer Rumba from the Dance the Night Away Collection and a Lavish Polish Mystery Polish I picked up at the Indie Shop event last November. I added Salon Perfect Animal Instinct spotted foils I picked up a few years ago and completed the look with golden rhinestone studs. I was pretty happy with the final look although I admit I forgot just how difficult these foils were to work with and how poorly they transfer onto the nails! Transfer was the worst along my nail overhang, mostly because I just couldn't exert enough pressure onto the foils to transfer the spots well onto my nails. The final result was still pretty cute and perfect for our zoo adventures.
That is all I have for today's blog post! What do you think of this look? Do you like combining brighter or unusual colours with animal print, or do you prefer your animal print to look more natural? What is your favorite animal print? I'd love to hear from you!
Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
I love this! I adore blue and brown together!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I'm totally leaving this up to show my daughter when she decides to come home from the park. Leopard is her favorite color (and she will tell anyone who will listen that). She's gonna flip! Love the use of gold in the spots.
