Product Haul from The Makeup Show NYC

Happy hump day, dear readers! I'm finally getting to sit down this evening to get this post written, and I'm going to keep it short, sweet, and to the point so I can get it up quickly. After doing some serious updating on my laptop, I have finally been able to get photos from my time at The Makeup Show in New York City off my phone. Yay! The down side is the rest of my life has gotten a little crazy this week and I haven't had the opportunity to even look closely at them, let alone crop and get a post written. I'm going to try, but this may be the only blog post I get up this week. Until then, I wanted to get this post up for you!

The most requested blog post about my time at The Makeup Show was a haul post, so I'm giving you just that! I went in with a small budget and still spent more than I had originally planned. Here is a look at the things I picked up!

Face Prime & Protect

You already know by now that I live for this sunscreen, and the fact that it works well as a primer under makeup is a major win for me. In addition to the full sized tube, I did bring home a sample size to toss in my travel bag for my next trip.

Natasha Denona products are generally a bit out of my budget, but the deals at the show were too good to ignore! Even then, I still tried, but after watching more than one demo of makeup artists using the Bloom and Cranberry palettes in particular, I knew I needed them in my life. They may have pushed me over my planned budget, but I have zero regrets!

New brand alert! For those of you that don't mind or even really enjoy risque names, these lipsticks by Dirty Mind Cosmetics are sure to win you over! The brand currently only has six shades of lipstick in their lineup, and I actually picked up all six of them. Here's two to entice you until I get a blog post up showing them all off in their full glory!

Journey & Co

As a blog that originally started out with a strong focus on nail polish, I couldn't turn away from this brand. Not only is it a new brand, it was created by an inspiring 8 year old! I'll have more details on these here soon as well!

If you were following me on social media while at the show, you already saw a peek at these new Glōlighters. I had swatched them at the show for a photo, but an hour later I couldn't get them off my mind and had to make them mine. They are seriously so stunning in person!

Matte Finish Makeup Setting Spray

While NYX Cosmetics is already a pretty affordable brand, it doesn't hurt when you can pick up items for a small discount! I naturally had to pick up these eyeshadow palettes to test them out, and I like that many of the shades coordinate well with each other across the palettes. The setting spray is also an affordable go-to for me so I picked up another one while shopping.

Glide-On Eye Pencil

I recently tested out the De-Slick setting spray when I picked up a travel sized bottle and really liked it! I opted to get a full-sized bottles since I could save a little cash; I suspect this is about to be very popular for me now that the weather is about to hit triple digits! I'm also a fan of Urban Decay's eye pencils and opted to add more shades to my small stash.

Kasha Lashes

Individual Silk Lash Pro Pack

I like to wear lashes, but I find most strip lashes aren't the most flattering on my hooded eyes. Sure, there are several that do work, but I've found myself lately gravitating towards individual lashes. These pro packs will be officially launching online tomorrow, but I couldn't resist the opportunity to snap up a pack and try out the brand. I opted for a set that includes short, medium, and long lashes although they are also available exclusively in one length if that is what you prefer.

Not to brag or anything, but I am actually pretty darn good about washing my makeup brushes every week. Normally I use a mat with some baby shampoo, and while that has always worked well for me, I figured I could treat my brushes to something a little nicer. After all, I do make them work hard for me! The original goat milk formula is supposed to be better for natural hair brushes while the vegan formula is ideal for synthetic brushes.

And this concludes my haul post! There were so many things I would have loved to have purchased, but with taking photos at the event and sitting in on demonstrations and presentations, time kind of ran away from me. Not to mention it can be a little overwhelming and budget constraints force me to adult when it comes to attending events like this. My husband did kindly inform me when I got home that he was getting credit card alerts as I was making purchases (we have a joint credit card account, nothing shady going on here)....um, oops! At least he took it well and said he was happy to see a purchase come through because he knew I found something I really liked. Awwwww!

Have you tried any of these products? What new beauty items have you picked up recently? I'd love to hear from you!

Until next time, have a wonderful night!

XO!
