Get Ready for Halloween Nail Art with Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate L004

Press Sample

It may only be September, but it's never too early to start thinking of Halloween, particularly if you have specific supplies you may need! I couldn't tell you how many National Fill-In-This-Line Days I have missed because I planned to order something when the time got closer.....and it never happened. Because Halloween is the best holiday ever (ok, ok, so not everyone agrees on that, but it is a fun one!), I wanted to be sure to get this post up with plenty of time for you to get in an order, especially since shipping can take six weeks.

Born Pretty Store always has such fun stamping plates for the holidays, and I was sent the Halloween L004 plate to test and review. This plate includes full images to cover your nails, pumpkin and jack-o'-lantern images for layering, skull and bone patterns laid out to make numbers, and a few other assorted smaller images. The full-sized etchings are great to use as a background for other stamping and nail art plans, and I especially like that they aren't limiting you to just Halloween. I also really dig the Halloween twist on the numbers! I know I'm biased because it is for Halloween, but this plate is fantastic! Check out the look I created with it!

I played with several images on this plate to create my look and get a good idea of how well it would perform. The background pattern and the face images stamped easily for me and was a quick process to get on my nails. The pumpkin, however, was a whole other story. I'm not sure if it is because I generally don't stamp with suck large open areas or if the issue was with my polishes or technique, but every time I would lightly scraped away excess polish, it would pull out large portions of polish, ruining the image. I tried this with at least five different polishes, both regular and stamping. Perhaps it is my technique, and I'll just have to practice more to get it down. In the end, I was able to get it to stamp, but not without an infuriating number of attempts.

Have you given any thought to Halloween nail art yet this year? If so, what sorts of looks do you have planned? I really missed out on it last year, so I'm eager to get some fun designs on my nails this season!

Until next time, dear readers, have a wonderful day!
